“De Ijzervreter/ the Iron eater”, 2023

In 2023 I worked at the Ijzervreter in the Saen shopping center in Assendelft. I had a studio in an empty shop building and worked on this sculpture with a small team of students and local residents, passers-by and people from the municipality of Zaanstad and the Ministry of Justice and Security. Using shredded weapons from national return days, we also wanted to address the theme of senseless violence and gun ownership.
